About the F-4 “Phantom II”
The F-4 Phantom II is a masterpiece jet fighter that had been protecting the Japan sky for almost half a century. The Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) adopted F-4E and modified to F-4EJ. The F-4 Phantom II was kept modifying with times, and the F-4EJ KAI was the final variat. The F-4EJ KAI served with 301st SQ at Misawa Air Base will leave service in 2020. The RF-4E tactical reconnaissance aircraft served with 501st SQ is also scheduled to retire. Special commemorative paint schemes are given to mark the retirement of the F-4 Phantom II.
