¡ÚAbout the Model¡Û

The EA-18G Growler is an electronic warfare aircraft developed and operated by the US Navy as a successor to the EA-6B Prowler. Developed based on the US Navy fighter, F/A-18F Super Hornet, and started operation in 2009. It carries a pilot, and one WSO (Weapon Systems Officer) in the rear seat. Electronic warfare equipment includes the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System (TJS) pod, the AN/ALQ-218(V)2 receiver, and the AN/ALQ-227 Communications Countermeasures Set. The engine is equipped with two General Electric F414-GE-400 turbofan engines. The Growler uses these weapons to counteract enemy Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) aircraft. The US Navy Electronic Attack Squadron VAQ-131 Lancers deployed at Misawa Air Base, Japan, is one of the units operating the EA-18G Growler.
