About the Aircraft

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a close air support attack aircraft that has been in operation since 1977. The A-10 can be equipped with weapons such as missiles weighing up to 7 tons, and a GAU-8/A Avenger 30mm cannon on the nose. The A-10C, which has undergone renovations such as a glass cockpit, made its first flight in 2005. The A-10 is still operated by the United States Air Force now, and some are also operated by the state air force. The Indiana Air National Guard(ANG) is also one of the units operating the A-10C. In 2021, the A-10C belonging to the 122nd Fighter Wing, nicknamed Black Snake, was unveiled with a special marking to commemorate the 100th anniversary of aviation in the Indiana National Guard. The special marking featuring a snake face drawn on the nose attracted a lot of attention.
