The Toyota Carina E participated in the 1993 British Touring Car Championship(BTCC). It¡Çs FWD and powered by an in-line 4 cylinder 3S-GE front engine tuned by TOMS. The 4-door sedan body was set to lower the height to the utmost limit to lower the center of gravity, demonstrating high cornering performance. In the 1993 season, Julian Bailey won at Knockhill and ranked fifth in the points, and Toyota won third in the manufacturers¡Ç standings.
