About the Aircraft

The air support fighter F-1 is the first fighter that was independently developed by JASDF after the war. It was developed based on Japan's first supersonic jet trainer T-2, and began service from 1977, was active in Japanese air defense for 29 years until 2006. The main armament was a 20mm Vulcan cannon, and capable to equip various bombs and missiles. A total of 77 aircraft were deployed to the 3rd, 8th Squadron of Misawa AB, and 6th Squadron of Tsuiki AB. The 3rd Squadron was known for its squadron marking on the KABUTO(a Samurai's helmet).
